Buying a puppy should be a well-considered decision. Reputable breeders want their puppies to go to homes where they will be loved and well provided for. We want puppy to be an enjoyable part of your family for a lifetime. Sire and dam should be OFA certified. It is even better if several generations are certified. Reputable breeders are starting to check elbows and do CERF test for eyes, though neither has been a problem in Brittanys.

You should not get pup before it is 7-8 weeks of age. Tail should have been docked and dew claws removed. Pup should have its first set of vaccinations and at least one deworming.

The dogs I breed go to qualified homes where they are loved as loyal family members. My breeding program focuses on a sound, healthy dog, good with children and easily trained.

My goal is to select qualified homes where puppy becomes part of the family. I provide a book on training by world-renowned trainers.

I will work with you as a support system and expect you to sign up for puppy kindergarten classes. When you and puppy train together, you will have a wonderful housedog and canine friend for life.

You should research the web to find the breed that is right for your family and your lifestyle. Also click here to review our Good Dog article. Brittanys are an active breed but not hyper or off the wall.

They require a fenced yard or electronic fence. If you live in a condo, they should be walked 4-times daily. Sometimes they will dig or leave brown spots on your lawn. (But they don’t do drugs, don’t go to college or get married.) The Brittany does need guidance and learned manners. It is good with children. The family should all go to puppy kindergarten training class to get the family off on the right paw.

Pups are weaned and raised in my home. They are handled, and are acclimated to sounds and become socialized.

You should research both the breed and the breeder. Reputable breeders will provide references and a written contract. After you have been qualified, and decide on a Marsport puppy you will want to do the following: A $100 deposit is required, toward the purchase price. Deposits are refundable up to 10 days after I notify you that the pups are born. After that time you will forfeit your deposit. Show prospects with a show contract are by private treaty. Puppies go home in order I receive deposits.

I have been dedicated to breeding quality Brittanys for over 40 years. I produce attractive, trainable, versatile Brittanys with sound temperaments that are well suited as family companions, hunting partners and show and field contenders. They are OFA Certified and are now being tested for CERF and elbows. My breeding has produced A Best In Show Brittany, numerous show ranked Brittanys and AKC Junior, Senior and Master Hunt Test titled dogs, a Dual Champion with another on the way, with numerous hunting companions. Those involved in Brittanys take pride in the breed; the dog that wins at a show today can go hunting or win a hunt test or field trial tomorrow. The breed has more dual champions (Field and Show Champions), than any other breed. I provide a contract and guarantees.
